It uses the power of football to deliver key messages to young people about elements such as good hygiene, keeping fit and caring for people.
The Outreach Programme is based upon a highly successful community programme that was developed in the UK but has since been rolled out in other territories with equal success. The programme is unique to Kickworldwide whose directors created the concept.
The programme is delivered to primary and secondary schools initially with UK support but knowledge transfer allows for self-delivery in the medium term ensuring long-term sustainability and is divided into two parts.
The first part of the program is a non-authoritarian fun Healthy Living programme aimed at 6 to 12-year-olds.
It uses football and footballers to deliver key messages about the importance of eating the right foods, hygiene, keeping fit and caring for each other.
This programme also educates the children about the dangers of alcohol, cigarettes and drugs, in addition to tackling other key issues as identified by the respective territories.
The second programme targets 13-to-16-year-olds and delivers a structured leadership programme which encourages participants to take a lead role in their local community.
The program is designed to develop grassroots coaching sessions for younger children.
Having achieved the leadership qualification, the participants are then introduced to a range of education and career opportunities in sports and football in particular.

The Outreach Program was officially launched at the British Ambassador’s Official residence to celebrate the partnership.
OFA Chairman Sayyid Khalid al Busaidy, said: “It is a very important moment for us. We are honoured to be part of this project.
“Football carries a lot of values. It is much more than a game. It brings people together, changes lives and creates opportunities for young people.
“As OFA chairman and a member of the FIFA Development Committee, I have seen with my own eyes how the sport is developing around the world.
“We are working hard to professionalise the game in Oman and improve the standards at all levels of playing, coaching, refereeing and management.
Jamie Bowden, said: “We have created a Football Institute along with Kickworldwide within the Modern College of Business and Science, which will soon conduct courses aimed at helping the youth to choose new exciting careers in the football and sports industry.

“The Football Outreach Program, which we call ‘Football for Future’, is aimed primarily at spreading the message of how children and youth should lead a healthy lifestyle. I hope the children will enjoy and learn from this program.”
Kickworldwide launched the initial scheme in the north Al Batinah region backed by Sohar-based businesses ORPIC, Vale, Sohar Aluminium and the Modern College of Business and Science.
It involved Omani and UK teachers backed by former footballers who visited schools every day for four months.
British Ambassador Jamie Bowden said: “The British Embassy is delighted to be one of the partners of this project and we are pleased to know that the programs have already reached about 4,000 children in the north Batinah region.
“This outreach program is extremely useful. It is very important to advise students on road safety and the ill effects of drug abuse in addition to other values such as friendship and teamwork.
“We are still at the beginning of this project and there is still a long way to go.”
