Brian Barwick – Chairman
Brian joined the BBC in 1980. He became editor of Match of the Day and subsequently the BBC’s Head of Television Sport. In 1998 he moved to ITV as Controller of Sport responsible for negotiating the rights of key sporting events including UEFA Champions League and World Cups. In January 2005 Brian became Chief Executive of the Football Association.
During his time in office he oversaw the opening of the new Wembley Stadium, was responsible for the highest financial turnover in the FA’s history and was solely responsible for the recruitment of Fabio Capello as the current England coach. In January 2009 Brian was made visiting professor of Strategic Leadership at the University of Liverpool and is now a global ambassador for Soccerex.
Steve Bellis – Director
Steve was Commercial Director with Stockport County Football Club. His success in grassroots initiatives engaged the players with the local community and grew the youth membership of the Club by 600%.
Steve took the brand of SCFC into China and created a profile commensurate with that of internationally renowned English Premier League clubs. As a result, Steve’s activities in China are used by UK Government bodies as a role model for other SME’s in the UK wishing to enter foreign markets.
He is regularly asked to speak internationally on grassroots football development and the internationalization of football brands.
Steve Cartwright – Director
Steve Cartwright and Steve Bellis created the Soccer Prince TV format which has been so successfully launch in China and is now being rollout out across other territories. Prior to forming KWW Steve was Managing Director of an international games company focusing on both mobile and internet gaming. Previously, Steve was a property developer and Managing Director of a sports event management company.
Shaun Ascough – Director (Africa)
Shaun is a qualified UK Accountant and has acquired a wealth of commercial experience at board level in a variety of industry sectors for blue chip multinationals through to rapidly expanding SMEs. He has a particular affinity for start up businesses having successfully managed a number of businesses from incubation through to maturity.
He is passionate about working with Soccer to make a difference in people’s lives and has recently had experience of this as Commercial Director of Africa Soccer Developments, who established The Cape United Soccer School of Excellence in Cape Town, South Africa in 2009.
Peter Gao – Consultant
Peter is a British citizen, a Chinese National, an MBA, and former Associate Director of Manchester Business School. At MBS Peter developed a range of management training courses for some of China’s biggest corporates through which he created an extensive network of commercial contacts throughout China. Since 1999, Peter and Steve Bellis have worked together on various successful projects, one of these being the highly acclaimed strategy for Stockport County Football Club in China.
Rogan Taylor – Consultant
Dr Rogan Taylor is the Director of the Football Industry Group at the University of Liverpool which he founded in 1995 and where he pioneered the world’s first post-graduate ‘football’ degree: a Masters in Business Administration (MBA Football Industries). He was a founder-member and leader of the first national fans’ organization in UK. He is also currently a Consultant to the Japanese FA & the JFL. Dr Taylor sat on the UK Government’s Football Task Force and was a member of the Football Players’ Work Permits Review Panel.
Nicholas Kittoe – Investor
Nicholas is corporate financial strategist, investor, facilitator, mediator and executor of transactions. After a conventional first half of his career in the City, his subsequent advisory and project management practice has contributed to the development of many successful small, and not so small, firms such as Benfield Group, Sporting Index, Mercury Asset Management, Guinness Flight.
Keith Young – Investor
Keith is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in the internet, communications and publishing sectors. He is a co-founder and deputy chairman of NetBenefit plc, a quoted internet domain name and services provider. He was also a founder shareholder in Easynet plc, a leading UK-based internet service provider.
